Sica Hollow Park is filled with rugged beauty and ancient mysteries, located a few miles northeast of South Dakota. The park is part of Prairie Coteau Hills. They are known to have a wide variety of activities all year round. This is the source of many Native American eerie legends. There are a lot of things to do in Sica Hollow. This is marked as one of the many trails the hikers enjoy in wooded terrain. Hikers can even have picnics along the way. There are helpful guides available to assist the hikers pass through and learn more about the hollow’s streams and waterfalls in the area. Sica hollow has a trail designated as the National Recreation Trail. This trail is also called the Trail of Spirits. You can have a self-directed interpretive walk here. On winter seasons, the hollow’s trails are ideal for cross-country skiing enthusiasts.

Custer State Park is one wild places in South Dakota. It has variety of wildlife as well as magnificent scenery that tourists will surely enjoy. There are buffalo, shy elks, swift pronghorn mountain goats, and burros that roam the park. Visitors can see these animals in the Wildlife Loop Road. One of the scenery that makes the place unique is what they call Needles. These slender granite formations dominate the skyline excellent for rock climbers. The Needles Highway is the favorite destination of sightseers and motorcycle enthusiasts. This state park is the second largest in America. You can actually tour this place and marvel at its sparkling nature. You can have a nice hiking experience to the highest point east of the Rocky Mountains, the Harney Peak. You can also go kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. There is also horseback riding, gold panning, fishing and many more things you can do.

Fort Sisseton Historic State Park is a state park that offers more of the historic details of South Dakota. The history of this park stretches back to over 130 years ago. As of now, the park always celebrates an event called the Fort Sisseton Historical Festival. This features black powder shooting, cavalry and infantry drills, grand march, flag ceremony, and many more demonstrations. The park offers a place for visitors to camp and also cabins for the visitors to stay. There are still many state parks in South Dakota. When you visit South Dakota, never forget to visit the state parks for you to have an adventurous experience.
